How much does new flooring actually cost?

Accepted Answer

Installed pricing typically runs $3.40–$5.50 per sq ft for premium laminate and LVP, $7.50–$12 for hardwood, and $9–$18 for porcelain and natural stone depending on format and pattern. Subfloor prep is quoted separately at $1.85 per sq ft and up so you can see exactly what you're paying for. Every quote is line-itemed and fixed unless the scope changes.

How long will my project take?

Accepted Answer

A typical 800–1,200 sq ft LVP or laminate install is 2–3 days. Hardwood installation runs 3–5 days, and refinishing adds 3–4 days for sanding and finish cure. Tile takes longer because of mortar and grout cure windows — plan on 5–8 days for a kitchen or bath. Your quote includes a day-by-day schedule.

Question 3

Do you move furniture and appliances?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Standard furniture moving is included in every residential quote. We disconnect and re-set ranges, refrigerators and washer/dryer units, and we return everything to its original position at the final walkthrough. Pianos, safes, aquariums and pool tables need a specialty mover, and we'll flag that during the estimate.

Question 4

Why does wood flooring need to acclimate?

Accepted Answer

Wood moves with moisture. Solid and engineered hardwood sits in your home for 3–5 days so its moisture content equalizes with your North Jersey interior conditions. Skipping acclimation is the number one cause of cupping and gapping a season later. We take moisture readings of both the flooring and the subfloor and won't install outside spec.

How dusty is hardwood refinishing?

Far less than you expect. We use HEPA-shrouded belt sanders and edgers connected to dust extraction, plus zip-wall containment at doorways and negative air where needed. It isn't literally zero dust, but most clients stay in the home throughout the project.

Question 6

What does your warranty cover?

Accepted Answer

You get a written 5-year workmanship warranty covering installation defects: hollow spots, lippage, failing seams, squeaks from fastening and separating transitions. Materials carry their own manufacturer warranty, which we register on your behalf and hand over at the walkthrough. We service warranty calls ourselves — no ticket portal.

Question 7

Do you handle waterproofing for bathrooms?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Wet areas get a full bonded waterproofing assembly — uncoupling or waterproof membrane, banded seams, pre-sloped or linear-drain pans and a flood test before tile is set. We won't set tile over a shower pan we didn't waterproof.

Can we live in the house during installation?

Accepted Answer

Almost always. We work room-by-room, keep clean walking paths and contain work zones daily. Tile and finish cure windows are the only real restriction — we'll tell you exactly which rooms are off-limits and for how long.
